The story behind Inkrum
Inkrum was founded in 2022 when the founder, Andre, became particularly fascinated by African artwork, after many years of studying African history. Whilst travelling through Ghana, Andre met with many talented artists, and started his collection of art pieces. He was especially drawn to the ingenuity and the ability of artists to convey such strong messaging and culture through their work.

Inkrum is a community that aims to celebrate and provide a platform for African artwork to showcase its beauty to the world. We are dedicated to becoming the global go-to place for African Art and will continue to support African Artists across the continent and diaspora by creating this space to exhibit their talents. The name Inkrum was inspired by the former Ghanaian President and Social Pan-African Activist Kwame Nkrumah. Who strived to fight for a united and self-sufficient African continent which is a philosophy we strongly stand by.

The artwork
A huge part of the beauty of studying artwork from across the African continent is the diversity of purpose and styles. From Papyrus Paintings in Ancient Egypt to West African war masks, African art is incredibly diverse and unique.
